Matcha Ceremony Set – Crystal Glaze

Everything you need to whisk a bowl of matcha the traditional way, gathered in one gift box. At its heart is a Mino ware matcha bowl (chawan) from Japan, one of the country's best-known ceramic traditions. Its crystal glaze holds fine crystalline inclusions that catch the light differently from every angle. The bowl is wide enough for the whisk to move freely and deep enough for a full serving.

What's in the set

  • Mino ware matcha bowl (chawan) – approx. 12 × 7.3 cm (4.7 × 2.9 in), made in Japan
  • Bamboo whisk (chasen) – 100 prongs, for a smooth, creamy foam
  • Bamboo scoop (chashaku) – in its own box, to measure the traditional serving
  • Mt. Fuji Matcha powder – 30g / 1.05 oz tin, from Japan

How to prepare

Warm the bowl, sift in one to two scoops of matcha, add about 70 ml of hot (not boiling) water and whisk briskly in a W motion until the surface is covered with a fine foam.

Care

Rinse the bowl, whisk and scoop by hand in warm water and let them air-dry.

Presented in a gift box, this set suits both matcha beginners and seasoned tea lovers.
