ๆAsa ยท Morning
The Winter Onsen Morning
Snow on the rocks, steam rising from the water. In Japan, a winter morning can begin with a hot bath. It wakes the body, clears the mind and warms you for the day ahead. In Japanese, asayu (ๆๆนฏ) also means โmorning bathโ.
The Morning Bath
At the winter solstice, Japanese families float whole yuzu in the bath. The tradition is called yuzu-yu, and its bright citrus scent is said to keep winter colds away. Bring it home with our cold-process yuzu soap, the clean scent of a hinoki wood tub and a Japanese exfoliating towel to awaken the skin.
