More comfy than they look!

I recently got my hands on the Japanese Traditional Sandals Tatami Setta Zori "Stripe" made in Japan, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase! These sandals are not only a stylish piece of traditional footwear but also incredibly comfortable. The Tatami mat material offers a soft, supportive base that molds nicely to the foot, which is great for long wear.

The Stripe design adds a nice touch of elegance, giving it a modern twist while still staying true to traditional Japanese aesthetics. It’s the perfect combination of comfort and style. I especially love how lightweight and breathable they are—my feet feel so relaxed, even after walking for hours.

Since they’re made in Japan, you can definitely feel the attention to detail and high craftsmanship that goes into these sandals. Whether you're looking to add a traditional piece to your wardrobe or want something unique for casual outings, these are a solid choice. I highly recommend them if you're after quality, comfort, and timeless style!

These Japanese style sandals are really well made. The quality is very good and the craftsmanship is as well. They are comfortable and they look great. 5/5 stars!

High quality, comfortable, look well made and durable

These are high quality Japanese traditional sandals. They look extremely well made, look robust and durable. When first using, the gap between the big toe and next toe is noticeable and quite wide and took a few minutes to feel completely comfortable but once settled do feel extremely comfortable on the feet.

The straps that go over the feet, hold the feet in the sandals well and they are surprisingly comfortable to walk about in. They do have good underlying grip as well. They have a slightly raised heel but feel quite natural when walking around in them.

The upper rush grass offers moisture absorption and neutralises odours which is a bonus, though I am not sure with extended use whether the light colouring will mean that they may be subject to discolouring from extended use.

I am also not sure I would attempt to wear these with socks as the gap is substantial and my socks generally are well fitting. I found it uncomfortable when I tried. Overall though a great pair of sandals that are both unusual and comfortable.

Premium Japanese sandals

These lightweight Japanese sandals seem well made and should presumably last a long time with normal wear (I hope so, as they aren't cheap). They have non-slip treads, which is always welcome.

The only slight issue I have is that when wearing them you have to position the toe-post between your big toe and other toes. Because the fabric toe-post is relatively wide, I find this a bit uncomfortable. Obviously that's a personal thing, and if (unlike me) you have good spacing between your toes that probably won't be an issue.

That aside, I do like these unusual sandals. If you are comfortable with the toe-post style they are light and airy. They should be ideal for summer days in the house and garden or on the beach. Four stars from me.
