Winter pulls the range towards the warmer, heavier scents: cinnamon, juniper, chocolate, sandalwood, and the forest blend of hinoki cypress with Japanese cedar.

A good part of this collection is gift sets, a box of sticks paired with a Mino ware holder from Toki, Gifu prefecture, which is the simplest thing to give someone who has never burned incense before. The sandalwood assortment runs five variations on one wood, and the Harmony set pairs cinnamon with juniper.

A stick runs about twenty five minutes, which is long enough for a room that has been shut all day. Low smoke keeps the haze down indoors. Traditional smoke is the fuller, temple end of the range.
