The zori from Asayu are amazing, beautiful, and of very good quality. Communication with the team was exceptional; they responded to emails very quickly. Highly recommended.

Traditional Japanese Sandals Tatami Setta Zori, Made in Japan - Blue
These feel like the real thing, as far as I can tell. They definitely smell like real tatami mat. I made the mistake of trying a traditional Japanese futon setup in the past, including the tatami floor mat, so the smell is pretty on point. The bed didn't work out, but these sandals will!
They appear very well made. The straps are a good quality material and the embroidery on them is nicely done. I wear a men's 9.5 and the sandals are a large (I'm guessing as there is an "L" on the bottom of them and I my order doesn't say a size). Any larger of a foot won't work well with this size I'm guessing as my heel can occasionally feel the edge of the back when walking in them. That might fix itself as the straps get a bit more worn in and relax more, allowing my foot to be more forward on the sandal.
A bit pricey, but I feel it's a quality item and worth the money if it's something you're in the market for.
